The anthology film by the Surreal16 Collective, Juju Stories will have its world premiere at the 74 Locarno Film Festival, in the Concorso Internazionale (International Competition). Juju Stories is a 3-part feature film exploring supernatural themes based on urban legends in Nigerian superstition. Each segment is written and directed by a member of the collective. Love Potion by Michael Omonua, Yam by Abba T. Makama, and Suffer the Witch by C.J. “Fiery” Obasi. Juju Stories produced by Oge Obasi, seems to be the first Nigerian film in competition at the 74 year old festival. Also in the International competition is legendary director, Abel Ferrera’s new film, Zeros and Ones starring Ethan Hawke.
